I’m Mandy, the founder of Modern HR.
I’m a virtual HR director – with over two decades of HR experience. I’m also a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and a ‘Business Woman of the Year’ finalist at the SME National Business Awards 2022.
My time is devoted to helping ambitious but compassionate CEOs & Ops Directors - across the UK - to build and lead high performing teams, as well as comply with the law and manage risk.
I do this through creating HR strategies designed to boost employee performance & engagement and help companies to attract, motivate and retain their best people. I have a lot of experience with HR transformation & culture change programmes, and I can support company restructures. As a certified Strengths Coaching, I also offer coaching and training to equip leaders and managers with the confidence, skills and knowledge to manage people brilliantly.
Almost all my work comes from word-of-mouth referrals. I put that down to consistently delivering successful outcomes, which my clients will happily vouch for. They’ll say I’m friendly, trustworthy, credible, and action oriented.
I work with a number of ambitious charities, as their dedicated Virtual HR Director, from just a few days per month. But I also offer support with one-off HR Projects.

MSc in Human Resource Management from London Southbank University
BA Hons Degree in Business Studies from Nottingham Trent University
Prior to setting up Modern HR in 2017, I worked as the Global HR Director for Pearson Education and Head of HR for Argos.
I’ve also held a number of volunteer roles, including Safeguarding Trustee for a Multi-Academy Trust and HR Lead for UN Women UK.
