Overview

Jodie is the Founder and Managing Director of the long standing social enterprise A Mind Apart and the Co-Founder and Consultant at Mantleco Ltd. With hands-on experience of running her own organisation for over fifteen years, she works with clients to support them in strategy development, operations, sustainability, income generation, fundraising and work-life balance. Her work has included taking organisations from being volunteer led to being sustainable businesses as well as sitting on executive boards and coaching organisation leaders. Her approach is holistic and considers the needs of the organisation and its beneficiaries, the board members and the key leaders involved in running the organisation, with a focus on creating sustainable healthy organisations from the leadership down to the beneficiaries.

Jodie works with organisations in a wide range of areas, including change management, development and growth, accountability, governance and ethical practices, policy development and implementation, and income generation. As a coach, mentor and consultant she works with clients to develop a clear picture of where they are going, supporting them to think big picture, whilst focusing on the detail and implementing it to achieve their goals.

She has worked with businesses in all sectors supporting them to be purpose-driven with meaningful processes, structure and impact. She holds specialist knowledge within the areas of education, safeguarding, creative and cultural, youth, wellbeing, social enterprise and community.

In addition Jodie holds qualifications and experience of working in community performing arts, which is regularly brought into her work when working with leadership teams. When delivering training, strategy, team building or group coaching sessions she regularly uses adapted activities/exercises she has practiced and developed throughout the years from the performing arts world. In this work, she also has extensive event management experience and is also able to support organisations in this area.


Clients

Holding a Masters in Social Enterprise and Cooperative Management, Jodie has extensive experience of supporting, coaching and consulting social enterprises and other ethical based businesses.

She works with a wide range of ethical businesses and charities of all sizes and in all sectors. She holds considerable experience working within the social enterprise sector and supporting a wide range of social enterprises with varying legal models. She recently worked with Sheffield Social Enterprise Network for a period of three years, supporting the organisation to move from being volunteer led to a sustainable network supporting social enterprises in the region and able to employ staff. As part of this work Jodie supported a wide range of local social enterprises and charities in a consultancy capacity, working with them to grow, develop and become strong organisations financially and operationally.

Other clients and experience have included supporting a not for profit in Brazil (Casa de Meu Pai), Initiatives of Change UK and a wide range of start-ups, small and medium sized businesses and not for profits.
