Cornish and Grey

Overview

Cornish and Grey helps individuals, organisations and cross sector partnerships to make a positive impact on the world. We work with our clients to identify the difference they want to make, and develop an impact strategy to improve success in delivering change.  We often work at the interface between the private, public and voluntary sectors and enjoy brokering effective partnerships though identifying shared social purpose goals and realistic plans for achieving them.

The type of support we offer includes, but is not limited to:

  • Running a Theory of Change workshop to develop an impact strategy built around the development of a clear mission and aims statement.
  • Developing and designing a logic model or outcomes chain to understand, measure and communicate how you deliver change.
  • Reviewing internal measurement and evaluation systems, and making recommendations for how they might be developed to play a more meaningful role in your strategic planning cycle.
  • Developing a user involvement strategy ie. advising on ways to ensure that decision making is informed by the views and experience of people living with the issues you are trying to address (‘experts by experience’).
  • Conducting an independent stakeholder consultation to identify keys and barriers to success in delivering change, and opportunities for more effective working.
  • Carrying out a scoping exercise or fuller desk research project to give insight into the wider evidence for ‘what works’ in delivering change to inform strategic thinking.

As we often work with small (and user-led) charities, one of our driving principles is to be great value for money to ensure that limited charitable funds are put to the best possible use. We turn work away when we think the proposed approach is impractical or disproportionate.

Clients

Voluntary sectorWe specialise in helping charities think about how they might deliver greater impact, either commissioned directly, or through a Funder Plus programme. We work across themes and user groups but have particular experience working with charities supporting the following:• People in crisis including those who are destitute, homeless, caught up in the criminal justice system, or have No Recourse to Public Funds eg. YouTurn Futures, Sophie Hayes Foundation and Lewisham Refugee Migrant Network.• People living with a disability or long term health condition eg Diabetes UK, Positively UK, and Aphasia Support. We also work with ‘place based charities’ using sports, arts, peer support or community centre facilities to improve quality of life in their community.Private sectorThrough our work with infrastructure organisations connecting business and charities we have a deep understanding of keys to success for pro bono support and how businesses can work with the charity sector to help achieve their organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives. Our long term partnership with Pilotlight, for example, has included work for corporate partners including Morgan Stanley and Barclays.
