Embrace Finance

Leading an organisation that can evolve, renew and flourish through inevitable change is one of the greatest challenges facing today’s social leaders.

Most leaders understand they need to become more resilient, but few have been shown what resilience-building actually looks like in practice. It isn’t simply about surviving difficult times. It’s about intentionally designing an organisation that can anticipate different financial futures, prepare for uncertainty, respond thoughtfully and adapt with confidence while remaining firmly rooted in its purpose.

I work alongside charity leaders and boards as a trusted critical friend and confidant, helping them build organisations that are financially viable, mission-centred and care-led.

With more than 20 years’ experience spanning charity finance, governance, income generation, grant-making and strategic prioritisation, I bring both strategic insight and practical expertise. As a qualified charity finance specialist, I understand the numbers, but I also understand that flourishing organisations are about far more than financial compliance. They are living systems that need continual care, reflection and renewal.

My approach brings together financial leadership and organisational wellbeing. Rather than seeing financial planning as a budgeting exercise, I use it as a strategic tool to help leaders make thoughtful decisions that balance purpose, people and money. Together, we explore how resources can best support mission, how financial choices affect organisational health, and how to create the conditions for sustainable impact.

Financial stewardship is about managing today’s resources whilst also preparing for tomorrow. It is accepting that renewal, adaptation and change are evergreen aspects of financial planning. By strengthening the financial strategies and systems internally, we can create the capacity to respond confidently to whatever is happening externally.
