Resolution Ready

Resolution Ready is a specialist consultancy helping councils, charities and community organisations build fairer, more accountable services for children and families. Our work is grounded in rights-based and trauma-informed practice, shaped by over 20 years of frontline, management and national policy experience.

We believe services are stronger when they listen carefully, learn honestly and act on what children and families tell them. That belief underpins everything we do, from statutory complaints investigations to creative facilitation.

Alongside our consultancy work, we also deliver Thinking Differently with LEGO® Serious Play® — a hands-on, structured method that helps organisations reflect, plan and co-produce new approaches.

Resolution Ready is trusted nationally to provide clear, human and practical support that strengthens outcomes, builds confidence and improves accountability.

Clients

Resolution Ready works nationally with councils, children’s trusts and charities to improve services for children and families. We currently support more than 15 local authorities across England, including Birmingham, Bradford, Hull, East Riding, South Gloucestershire and Newham, delivering statutory complaint investigations, service reviews, audits and professional learning.

Alongside this statutory work, we are deeply rooted in the voluntary and community sector. James Anderson has held non-executive and trustee roles in housing, LGBTQ+ inclusion and asylum support, and continues to advise charities on governance, safeguarding and service development. Resolution Ready also provides consulting support to small and medium voluntary organisations, helping them strengthen accountability, structure and strategy.

Through Thinking Differently with LEGO® Serious Play®, we work with charities, partnerships and community groups to co-produce solutions, explore challenges creatively and embed meaningful change. This combination of statutory expertise and voluntary sector leadership means we can bridge perspectives, build trust and provide support that is both practical and inclusive.

Qualifications

James Anderson is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMgr FCMI), holding postgraduate-level qualifications in strategic management and leadership (CMI Level 7 Extended Diploma, supported by CMI Level 5 Diploma). He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

Alongside leadership credentials, James is a certified LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator (Registration No. 1408), a registered member of the International Association of Facilitators, and a member of the Association of Child Protection Professionals. These memberships reflect his commitment to professional standards, reflective practice and continuous development.

He has undertaken specialist professional learning in counselling, mental health, trauma-informed practice, harmful sexual behaviour, advocacy for children and young people, and family group conferencing. This breadth of training supports a rights-based, trauma-informed approach to consultancy.

Together, these qualifications combine strategic leadership, facilitation expertise and deep knowledge of children’s services, giving Resolution Ready a distinctive mix of credibility and practical insight.

Experience

James Anderson, director of Resolution Ready, has over 20 years’ experience in children’s services across safeguarding, early help, education, children’s rights and quality assurance. He has delivered more than 75 statutory investigations under the Children Act 1989 and is regularly commissioned as an independent investigating officer, panel chair and adviser.

James has held senior roles in local government, the charity sector and national policy. He has led early help services, chaired adoption and fostering panels, acted as a children’s rights adviser to government, and supported inspection, policy and quality assurance work.

This breadth of experience means Resolution Ready can combine detailed knowledge of statutory frameworks with practical insight into the realities of frontline work. Our approach is reflective, thorough and grounded in both lived and professional experience.
