Adam Hardy is a technical and digital consultant for charities and NGOs, with a specialism in carbon accounting and sustainability.
He brings an unusual combination: twenty years of software engineering in finance and payments, followed by five years co-founding and directing EcoCounts, a citizen carbon reduction charity operating across Camden, Islington, Hackney, and Haringey. Most consultants in this space can do the technical work or the climate work. Adam does both.

Adam’s consultancy work has been delivered primarily through EcoCounts and EcoCore CIC, the two organisations he co-founded and has directed since 2019. Both are registered entities operating in the voluntary and social enterprise sector, with external funding from grants, donations, and institutional sources.
Clients and stakeholders engaged through this work include multiple London boroughs, Camden, Islington, Hackney, Westminster, the City and Haringey, alongside academic partners at UCL and Imperial College London. Volunteer cohorts, community members, and a board of trustees have all been managed as part of ongoing organisational delivery.
CyberspaceRoad, his consultancy, is actively seeking its independent engagements. Prospective clients include charities, community groups, housing associations, and NGOs requiring technical, digital, or sustainability support at a scale and price point that larger consultancies do not serve.

Experience
Adam’s software engineering career spans twenty years, with contracts at BP, UBS, BNP Paribas, FIS, and Voca, covering Java development, REST architecture, cloud migration, and technical project management across finance, payments, and energy sectors. He holds a PSM1 Scrum Master certification and led teams of up to five offshore developers.
In 2019 he co-founded EcoCounts, a registered charity, and EcoCore CIC, with economist and co-founder Professor Steve Keen. He has since directed both organisations, managing trustee governance, volunteer teams of up to twelve, academic partnerships with UCL and Imperial College, and engagement with multiple north London councils.
His practical deliverables include a three-year longitudinal household carbon tracking programme covering 25 households across four London boroughs, a full digital infrastructure build for EcoCore using free and freemium tools, and a four-phase strategic roadmap covering 2026 to 2032.
He is available for project work across the UK, working remotely or on-site.
