Overview

I am an experienced independent consultant, facilitator and trainer. I work both independently and with a range of specialist associates in a range of practical and innovative ways.

My main areas of focus are:

  • Facilitation – workshops, team away days, conferences, meetings, service user consultation
  • Training – facilitation skills, training the trainer, participation techniques, peer mentoring, Liberating Structures etc.
  • Organisational support, project and change management
  • Feasibility studies, charity closure and charity merger
  • Small charity governance support and reviews
  • Mentoring and coaching

I have worked for 30 years with numerous third sector and public organisations helping them to develop their skills and knowledge to meet new challenges. My work has helped charities improve their organisational performance, delivery and so aiding the development of vibrant communities. I am able to look at situations with clarity and in a fair and impartial way and believe I can get to the heart of the strategic and development needs of the client so that I can help move both individuals and organisations forward. Using solutions focused and consensus building approaches, my style helps to bring people together, using their strengths to get the task done.

Experience

I have worked for over 30 years with third sector and public organisations of all sizes to support and develop their skills and knowledge in order to meet new challenges. I am passionate about helping organisations succeed in becoming efficient and sustainable to make a real difference to their clients and communities. My commitment comes from my years as a grassroots community worker with a range of diverse communities as well as working strategically with umbrella organisations across Wales and beyond.

Consultancy experience includes:

  • Project management of several mergers including Women’s Aid organisations and Age Cymru charities.
  • Options appraisals and feasibility studies exploring partnership working and possible merger – Age Cymru, Viva Wales! SOSDAP
