Overview

An independent digital technology consultant working with people, process, data and technology to meet an organisation's strategic and practical needs. I use this with my non-profit sector experience to find ways to improve online engagement, shape organisation efficiency, achieve social impact, develop new models of support, and other goals.

Digital can help organisations on the outside and the inside:

  • Outwards-facing approaches include digital tech/systems audits, capability assessments, vendor/supplier selection and procurement support, roadmaps, solution design for digital platforms (including website, marketing, analytics, CRM, ecommerce, systems integration), online product and service development (using Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Agile and other practices).
  • Inwards-facing includes internal systems design (collaboration, knowledge management, infrastructure, self-service, data management) and organisation-wide modelling of operations, systems, data, and people for broader transformation and change.
  • These activities are supplemented with management advisory services of the digital marketplace, capability building, digital strategy and programme management to oversee delivery, governance and operations for an end-to-end approach.

Clients

Clients over the years have come from across all sectors, from global brands like Diesel, Canon, BMW, Nokia and Rolex, to UK central government like Dept of Education, Justice, Health and the Home Office, to a wide range of non-profits spanning member societies to UK charities and global NGOs. This versatility helps transfer learnings and ideas across industries.

Key non-profits include the British Heart Foundation, British Medical Association, British Council, Water Aid, Christian Aid, the International and British Red Cross, Youth Hostel Association, Dogs Trust, Concern Worldwide and many more.

Qualifications

I have certifications from platform vendors like Adobe, Sitecore, Drupal and Acquia and completed training in Agile, Lean, DevOps, Design Thinking and Digital and Enterprise architecture practices. Lastly, I am a professional grade member of the British Computing Society and a fellow at the Royal Society of Arts.

Experience

I have over 31 years of professional digital experience, first as a consultant guiding new projects and change, then as a board-level technology director in a range of creative and marketing agencies within global ad groups and independents building digital capabilities, processes, managing diverse teams and client relationships. More recently, I was at Accenture in digital solution design and digital transformation consulting, specialising in digital customer experience technology platforms across Europe.

I am also involved in forming a neurodiversity social enterprise, co-lead a disability tech startups group, a National Autistic Society branch, a new We and AI charity and serve as governor and committee member for two organisations within the NHS.
