Lisa Mangan Media
I am an experienced media trainer and copywriter. I help progressive charities, businesses and public sector organisations unearth and deliver compelling stories to inspire positive change.
Having run press offices at some of the UK’s highest profile charities, I spent six years as the media specialist and trainer for an award-winning social change agency and have been running my own consultancy for the past ten years.
Passionate about all things social and environmental, I help clients get to the heart of their story and tell it with clarity, personality and verve.
Whatever your starting point, I’ll work with you to cut through the noise with content people remember and highly persuasive broadcast interviews that change hearts and minds.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced broadcaster, telling a positive story or responding to a crisis, my media spokesperson training is tailored to your needs. I’ll work with you to draw on your strengths and iron out any creases to deliver powerful, jargon-free interviews with authenticity and welly. Small group and individual sessions available, in-studio and online, over half and full days.
Whatever your copywriting challenge, I’ll help you craft the best content to capture your audience and convince them of your cause.
Whether you are a new charity that needs to find its voice or an established one with too much on or too little to say, I’ll help you get to the fluff-free point so you can tell your story, irresistibly.
From message workshops to crisis planning, story gathering to podcast presenting, my 20+ years in external and internal communications across sectors means I can help give you a creative boost, a fresh perspective or simply an extra pair of hands when you need it most.
I have worked for and with the social sector for the duration of my career. My charity client list includes the British Heart Foundation, MS Society, Power to Change, The Lancet Countdown, Clore Social Leadership Programme, Youth Futures Foundation, International Longevity Centre, National Brain Appeal, Centrepoint, Heritage Lottery Fund and Men’s Sheds Association.
I have been the media trainer for the British Heart Foundation since 2017 and am a trustee for global child rights charity, Child to Child.
I cut my communications and broadcast teeth as head of communications at Centrepoint, where I handled the intense media interest in the charity and its young people following the tragic death of their patron Diana, Princess of Wales. Since then, I have spent my career working on issues I feel passionately about. I’ve helped organisations, across all sectors, stand out and be counted on topics as diverse as youth homelessness, green coffins, the death of the high street, student wellbeing, drug use, breast cancer, blood cancer, brain cancer, multiple sclerosis, heart health, dental health, pet health, teenage pregnancy, plastic surgery, the sexual offences act, ageing, men’s sheds, air pollution and invasive plant species…. to name quite a few!
