Heard Consulting

I've been working in the sector for nearly 20 years, and volunteering for 25 years. I primarily work in research and strategy - focusing on impact and creating change. I'm also a trained facilitator. I work flexibly with clients and tend to develop strong relationships and keep working with organisations over multiple projects. Happy to discuss small and longer term projects - but I am often booked several months in advance.

My day rate is at the affordable end, and varies according to client type.

I work with charities, social enterprises, funders and local authorities. Current/past clients include: Affordable Justice, Camden Council, Churchill Fellowship, Comic Relief, Essex Council, Imkaan, Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network, LGA, NCVO, Southall Black Sisters.

I work primarily on ending violence against women and girls and other forms of gender justice.

Client testimonials are available on my website.

I am a qualified coach and trained facilitator.

I have an unusual range of cross-sector experience, having worked in local charities and at NCVO, NPC, the law firm Bates Wells, and as lead strategic commissioner for a London local authority. In the latter role, I oversaw transformation of £162m annual commissioned spend. I was previously Chair of the small user-led and Guardian Award-winning charity, Wheels for Wellbeing. I've volunteered extensively and am a climate activist.

I became freelance in late 2019. Work for clients includes a cost-benefit analysis on supporting migrant women - for Southall Black Sisters; evaluation of a Comic Relief programme; re-design of a £4m children's social care pathway for Camden; and a domestic abuse needs analysis for Northamptonshire councils.
