I set up Gamma Talent to help charities in the West Midlands develop and strengthen their workforce, and to subsequently attract amazing new hires.
We do this through a mixture of consultancy, training and recruitment.
Gamma Talent stands out from the general (and crowded) recruitment market because we genuinely understand what it is like to work within a charity, and know what to look for in a good candidate. I still manage fundraising briefs as a consultant, we’re frequently asked to deliver training on topics from governance to volunteer management to fundraising. I am also an active and very proud trustee of a £130k turnover charity based in Birmingham.
It is this portfolio of activity makes our business model extremely successful.
And I’ve numerous recommendations to prove it!
Gamma Talent has been commissioned by a whole host of different organisations on a mix of consultancy, training and recruitment activities.
This includes Castel Froma, Acorn’s Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Education Partnership, Dartmoor Zoological Society, Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Adoption Focus, Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Compton Care and Sandwell Council for Voluntary Services.
Fundraising is my first love: I managed the corporate fundraising team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital from 2007-2014, overseeing significant growth. I then managed the responsible business programme for Xoserve, a national data company serving the gas industry. This included the community investment strategy, inclusion and diversity programme and managing their grant-making vehicle, the Xoserve Foundation.
I am Co-Chair of ThriveBrum, the volunteer-led network promoting responsible business in Birmingham, a Business Ambassador for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and a Trustee of Beyond the Horizon Charity. I’m also an active member of my son’s school PTA and have occupied various positions including Fixtures Secretary and Team Captain for my local hockey club.
