Overview

Dave is the founder of Thoroughfare Ltd, a practice offering specialist accountancy, assurance engagements and consulting to social purpose organisations — charities, fair enterprises and educators. He is member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and an eligible independent examiner of year-end charity accounts up to the audit threshold.

Dave has twelve years of experience working with charities and not-for-profits, and a background in external audit (financial statements audit) and internal assurance delivery to a third sector client base, in a former role at a top-25 accountancy and audit firm in London.

His specialism and consulting includes:

  • Charities SORP financial reporting (year-end statutory accounts preparation) and independent examination.
  • Design and production of management accounts, consulting around internal financial reporting approaches for charities and social enterprises.
  • Internal assurance engagements in a range of areas including financial controls, governance, risk management and sector-specific compliance.
  • raining and technical support for third sector finance personnel.
  • Assistance with preparation for audit fieldwork or other external scrutiny.
