Consultants are expected to be experts in one or more field. This is not a static position to occupy, client skills improve, and new technologies and methodologies evolve. Rules and laws change. Successful consultants go through a succession of constructive destructions to stay ahead of the curve. This can be painful and resource intensive.
Are consultants missing an opportunity? Can some of the resources invested in self development be repurposed to client education development and education?
